Reflecting on cars, and their "usage" in the U S of A. Mine has a dented fender. Has had for years now.
Sometimes I see it as a reminder of how I should pay attention when backing and turning the wheel. Sometimes I see it as a blemish on an otherwise nice looking car. Sometimes I see it as a reflection on who I am. Today we'll go with who I am, because that's how I'm seeing that fender today.
I'm NOT someone who drives a car to impress. A car gets me from point A to point B. A dented fender in no way impairs that function. I doubt if anyone looks at the car and sees that fender and thinks "I have got to have that done to MY car." It's a REAL car, and it's just a car. It's not the latest model, it's not a status symbol, and it's not perfect. Neither am I.
But it runs good. the heater works on cold days, and the fan blows cool air on hot days. The windows roll down. The lights illuminate the dark roads when the sun has gone down. It works like a car is supposed to. It's comfortable. It's well used, but not (too) abused.
It doesn't park itself, or have gold lettering. It has no hood ornament. If it were to say anything about who I am, I guess it would say I'm practical. Not flashy, or out to impress. I'm just a guy, with faults.
Wave at me as you drive by. I'll wave back and smile. :-)

Well your car is much better than the old van you drove during training! That say's "Stay away, weird man driving". HAHAHA
I'm sure glad you mentioned the dent was on your car and not the bus! WHEW!
It's about time to put up another post, Phil!!
